Sunday 3rd November 2019
Both Division 1 & 2 enjoyed the hospitality of Rangiora Squash club for their games. Great to see Spencer Jarrett back on the court after injury and teamed up with Canterburys MIP Female Junior for 2019 Anistasia Lim (Rangiora) they were a tough team to bet, taking out 1st place for Division 1.
Unfortnately Division 2 was the only Division not to field a country team, however the town teams competing enjoyed some great compeition in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The winners being Ryan Gillman of Burnside & Poppy Sargentina of Christchurch. I think Poppy is the only player to have medals now from both years this Tournament has been played, well done Poppy.
Division 3 had 5 teams competing at Oxford Squash Club, thank you to Maria Hinz and Shelly Drumond for overseeing the games. Unfortunately two players went home unwell during the day, and tournament organisers adapted accordinly. We had 3 country teams and 1 town team as well as a blended team 1 player from both town and country!
1st Place went to top seeds Agnes Lim & Dominic Lim (Rangiora)
Our bigest Division, which is very encouraging for keeping this tournament on the Calander. We had 6 teams competing at Christchurch Squash Club, to take the medals home. All players graded from beginner up to 300 points. We had 4 town teams against 2 country teams. 1st Place went to Aidan Evans & Jude Lim (Rangiora), 2nd to Annie Le Grelle & Maria Evans (Rangiora) and 3rd to Corby Allison & Max Dillon-Roberts (Burnside).
