Maria Hinz

Maria has been responsible for establishing and running a weekly Junior Squash Program at a country club.  She has on average 17 junior players regularly attending one of 3 weekly sessions she offers on a Wednesday after school. 

She has equipped many of these junior players to a level where they can play competition games.  9 new Juniors have registered with Squash NZ to date. 

She is preparing another group of Junior Players to begin competitive squash in the Squash Canterbury Junior Program in 2019. 

This year Maria has completed the Squash New Zealand Big Nix 3 & Big Nix 3a coaching modules. 

She runs 3 weekly sessions on a Wednesday after school 3.15pm – 5.30pm.  2.45hrs per week 40 weeks per year (term time). 

Athlete outcomes – 9 new juniors registered to play squash as Graded players as Juniors of Oxford Squash Club. Some of these players entered the Canterbury Secondary Schools Tournament, and or the Canterbury Junior 2100 series tournaments. 

Her impact has driven participation from 0 to 17 at her weekly coaching sessions, adding new juniors’ players to Oxford Club, and also new junior players to the Canterbury Junior Program.
