It’s great to see Squash in Christchurch schools is underway for this season, with several Junior Squash Programme’s starting a couple of weeks ago.
New this year, Squash has been included in the Selwyn Sports Interschool programme. During term 2, 60 lucky children from local Selwyn Primary Schools can learn squash in a 6-week programme based in Rolleston and a different group of 60 children will be given the opportunity in term 3.
In Christchurch City, on a Tuesday afternoon, 15 teams from 5 Intermediate schools gather at Squashways to play in the AIMS Winter Interschool Programme. This programme is organised through Primary Sports Canterbury http://www.primarysportscanterbury.org.nz. The competition started in May and goes through to 12th August.
The options and opportunity for squash in schools is growing bigger and bigger! There are programmes and events for all ages and levels.
