Squash Canterbury Junior 2100 Squash Tournament

Sunday 23^rd June 2019, hosted by Hoon Hay Squash Club

Our 3^rd Junior Tournament in the 2100 series was a wonderful success, both on court and off.  It is wonderful to see a day filled with evenly matched games on court, and junior players from all over Canterbury mixing and enjoying each other’s company off court.  

A newly introduced “Ungraded Division” catered for children who have participated in either a Squash for Schools programme, attended a squash after school programme, or who regularly attend junior club coaching to “Have a go” at a competitive game alongside our Junior Players.  First round nerves were obvious with some of these players, however as the morning progressed, both confidence and the enjoyment of the experience grew.  I am sure we will see some of these players again!

A massive thank you to Marliesje & the team at Hoon Hay Squash Club who helped out on the day, to ensure the tournament ran smoothly. With a record number of entries don’t miss out on the next date in the Series Sunday 28^th of July at Burnside, entries are open now register through i-squash.
