Interclub

The aim of the Women’s Autumn Interclub is to provide a framework for all female players of all abilities and *ages to play competitive squash for their club. All division title winners will be presented with a trophy and winners of Division 1 will be presented with the Cathy Hargreaves Trophy.

There are 21 teams in the Women’s competition spread over 4 divisions. All games take place 7pm on a Tuesday evening. Please make sure that all players are ready to go on court at 6.45pm and that games start promptly.

*U19’s must be +1500 points to play in the senior interclub.


Division 1:

  • Format: 7 teams. Will play a round robin tournament over 7 weeks, which starts Tuesday 30th April and the last week will be 11th June. The round robin tournament will be followed by semi-finals on Tuesday 18th June and finals Tuesday 25th June.
  • Fixtures: the drawcan be found on iSquash
  • Semi-finals:will be derived from the final standings after the round robin;

Game a – 1 v 4

Game b – 2 v 3

Game c - 6 v 7

Game d – 5 v Bye

  •  Finals: will be derived from the semi-final;

Winners of Game a & b will play for the Cathy Hargreaves Trophy & Division Title

Losers of Game a & b will play for 3rd & 4th place

Winner of Game c & d will play for 5th & 6th place

The loser of Game c finishes in 7th place. 

All finals games will be played at a central venue

  • Competition Ball: Single dot

Division’s 2 & 4:

  • Format: 5 teams. Will play a round robin tournament over 10 weeks, which starts Tuesday 30th April and the last week will be 2nd July. Teams will play each other twice and two byes. The last week of the round robin will be played at a central venue.
  • Fixtures: the drawcan be found on iSquash
  • Competition Ball: Division 2 - Single dot and Division 4 – Blue dot

Division 3:

  • Format: 4 teams. Will play a round robin tournament over 9 weeks, which starts Tuesday 30th April and the last week will be 25th June. The round robin tournament will be followed by finals on Tuesday 2nd July, which will be played at a central venue. Teams will play each other three times.

General

  • Rules: Click here for a copy of the Interclub rules. A couple of key things to note:
  • Refereeing: All interclub players must have completed the Squash NZ club's online referee exam within the last two years. The online course is valid for two seasons’ - the season you sit the exam and the following season.  The online course is available here.
  • Start Times: All team members must assemble 15 minutes before the appointed starting time. Subject to prior agreement with the captain of the opposing team, one member may arrive up to half an hour late.  A team member not ready to play (i.e. changed and ready to go on court) at the starting time or immediately upon conclusion of the preceding rubber may be defaulted at the request of the opposing team.
