The 2019 Canterbury Sports Awards took place on Friday 29th March at the Wigram Air Force Museum.

The Awards are the region's iconic celebration of sporting achievement, recognising coaches, officials, athletes and administrators. Squash had a great representation with six nominees;

  • Administrator of the Year – Richard Aitken
  • Club of the Year – Waimea Squash Club
  • Coach of the Year – Adam Odering
  • Sportsman of the year – Paul Coll
  • Young Sportsman of the year – Tom Marshall
  • Life Achievement – Lawrence Skurr

Adam_optPaul Coll was shortlisted as a finalist for the Outstanding Sportsman of the Year and second year in a row, lost out to Tom Walsh and Lawrence Skurr received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his services to Squash.
