2018 Service to Squash Receipant

Richard Ford - MCOB

• Richard has held the position of President of Marlborough College Old Boys Squash Club. Not only has he led a successful committee this year with increases in membership, increases in numbers of events hosted by the club and leagues available for members of the club, but he has supplemented his role of President with endless amounts of hours supporting club activities.
• Richard has actively run three major tournaments, three junior Undy900 tournaments as well as, unlocking and running the Blowout Social League in support of his wife, Michele Ford, who is the Women’s Club Captain.
• His dedication to the game has seen him complete coaching course, support junior the club programme, participate in social leagues, interclub and actively support in the club maintenance projects. He has been a hands-on President who is well respected within the club, and more importantly is known as passionate and caring by members.
• Richard supported Marlborough Squash Inc to deliver a junior development programme and regional Representative Opportunities for Senior and Junior Players.
• This extra support of squash has enabled Marlborough to really shine with its juniors playing squash. Richard has poured a huge amount of effort into squash during this judging period, and with him stepping down from the MCOB President role, he leaves a huge gap to be filled within our club.
