The Phil Morgan Trophy is presented annually to someone who has provided outstanding services to refereeing. This year’s winner was Liza Tonkin, Christchurch Squash Club. Congratulations Liza.
Liza is relatively new to refereeing (compared to our existing district and national referees). However, she is super keen and committed to refereeing and will be around for a long time. She has recently passed her district referee exam and keen to do what it takes to become a national referee.
Liza has refereed or marked finals at some of the major tournaments this year in Canterbury and she is always very supportive of other players and helps them develop their skills and confidence when refereeing.
