Junior Interclub (Winter 2018)

The aim of Junior Winter interclub is to provide a framework for players of all abilities and ages to play graded competitive squash within greater Christchurch.

We provide two junior competitions – Division 1 and 2.

 Competition Formats - Winter 2018 (Junior) (127K)

Division 1

Division 1 gives the opportunity from the more experienced juniors to play competitive games for their club against other clubs in the district.

Format: The division has five teams and will play 9 rounds, starting on Monday 23rd July, followed by a finals night. All games start at 5.45pm. One team each week will have a bye.

Supper: Home teams provide supper

Finals: A composite team will be entered on finals night to play the 5th placed team of the winter competition. This team will comprise of reserve players of teams in Division 1 on finals night. The finals night will take place at Christchurch Squash Club on Monday 24th September, followed by a shared supper. Each player will be responsible for bringing a small plate to share.

Most Improved player: Awards will be presented at the finals night for the most improved girl and boy.

Refereeing: All interclub players must have completed either the Squash NZ club's online referee exam or attended a rules and referee’s session within the last two years. The online course is valid for two seasons’ - the season you sit the exam and the following season.  The online course is available here

Division 2

Division 2 is aimed at juniors new to squash and the format will allows for new players to join the competition at any stage.

Format: It is a combined competition, which will allow players to be matched up against someone that is around the same grade as them. Players need to be ready to start at 5.30pm. There will play 9 rounds of fixtures starting on Monday 23rd July, followed by a finals night 

Fixtures: the draws will be emailed to the players weekly.

Supper: Round 1,3,5 etc – Christchurch, Hoon Hay and MP players bring supper. Round 2,4,6 etc – players from Burnside, Football & Malvern bring supper.

Finals: The finals will take place at Burnside Squash Club on Monday 23rd September, followed by a shared supper. Each player will be responsible for bringing a small plate to share.
