In essence the Squash Canterbury board’s role is to ensure that the Canterbury Squash Organisation is well managed whilst being responsible for:
Each time we apply for grant funding and are successfully allocated funds for strategic initiatives and operational activities, the board will call for expressions of interest.
In order to meet our above obligations as well as the requirements of our funding agencies with regard to accountability and transparency we have created the below process.

This process will be implemented for all volunteer and paid opportunities.
In advance, we thank all potential applicants for their continued interest and support.

Men’s interclub update:
Divisions 1, 22 & 23
We are into the last round of the three week round robin. March 6 we will be running a one-night format which will be sent to the captains.
There will be relegation of the bottom teams from division 22 & 23 respectively to division 3. Please note: The points from round 1 for divisions 22 & 23 will not count and be removed from the table as that was a “grading game”. The format for the last five weeks will formalised this week just awaiting a few more replies from the captains.
Divisions 3 – 9
We are entering the last two weeks of the round robin before we have the promotion / relegation followed by another five round robin.
Women’s interclub update:
Divisions 1 – 4
Ladies welcome to the second three week round robin, you have been promoted / relegated as determined by the format described prior to the competition commencing. You have this three week round robin followed another round of promotions / relegations after which there will be a further three week round robin followed by a finals week where 1 v 2, 3 v 4 (as per points table) in each division will playoff.
Summer Combined Competition
This competition has been thumping along nicely, a big thanks to the ladies from the various clubs who have made up the “Super league” teams. You have two more weeks to complete the first five round robin. Jess Wilson, Trish Roughan-Smith and myself will be meeting Tuesday at the Christchurch club to formulate the competition for the second five week round robin or whatever it may be.
Junior Interclub update:
Firstly, I would like to thank Adam Odering, Chris van der Salm, Deb Salisbury & Diane McCoy for their input into the Summer Junior interclub.
Importantly the BLUE DOT ball is the junior ball for interclub so keep putting it on the court.
Now we are into week three of the first five-week rotation but it is time to look forward and plan the next five-week rotation. We are limited in what we can do but it is always good to get suggestions and look at ways of improving the squash for budding up and coming Paul Coll’s and Joelle King’s.
I am looking at setting up a meeting with big four above over the next week or two to assess the first five weeks and sort out rotation two.
To you all a big thanks for participating in the Summer Interclub it remains strong & competitive. We do encourage feedback believe it or not so if you wish to tell what’s good bad or ugly please do, but do be aware that there are limited options available which are both workable and manageable with the interclub set up as it is.
Regards
Greg Atkins on behalf of the Men’s & Women’s volunteer convenors
