Canterbury Masters Selection Policy for Quadrangular and Nationals 2018

Selections will be based on the following criteria, and training dates will be determined after team selection:

•  Results in tournaments and inter club
• Grading points at the start of the year compared with points at time of selection
• Fitness levels
• Commitment/effort/attitude    
• Availability for all other teams
• Ability to perform in a team environment
• Potential to represent Canterbury at future National events
• Residential Qualifications – players must meet the residential requirement of Squash Canterbury.  A player that permanently resides outside of the Canterbury region can only be considered for selection if that player is a professional player, has previously played for Canterbury or has specific approval.

NOTE: The Canterbury Masters June 21-23 is considered to be the premier event on the calendar therefore we encourage participation and the results will have some bearing on selection.

The Selection Panel reserves the right to include/exclude players in exceptional circumstances.  The teams for each event will be named at the Canterbury Masters.

Teams will be selected for the following representative events:

QUADRANGULAR EVENT

Where:                        Timaru

When:                         27-29^th July 2018

Format:                      2 men 2 women - any age 35+

Selection Date:          23^rd June 2018

Cost per player:        $50.00

NEW ZEALAND MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Where:                        Devoy Centre, Tauranga

When:                         14 -19 September 2018

Format:                      6 men, 5 women with 2 managers/reserves - 1 in each age group 35+-55+ & 60+ (males only)

Selection Date:          23^rd June 2018

Cost per player:        $300.00
